Olive:
Thanks for your wonderful narrative about Zambonaga Del Norte. I am flying out on July 15th and will be there until around August 9th visiting with my fianance. I have been in the PI several times, but never had the chance to visit with her family there. They actually live south of there at Liloy.
I plan on sampling life there to the fullest and your description surely has me excited about this trip.

Been here several times everytime I visit my grandparents and relatives who are in Piñan and Dipolog City, respectively. And I can say that this place is very nice. It's quite a small City yet I boasts a lot of things such as the Rizal Shrine where our National Hero Jose Rizal was exiled, St. James Church and the geographical map of Mindanao infront of it.

The Ilihan Hill where you can see the whole Dapitan and eat "dam-on" or sounds-like (tiny fruit that has sour taste). Quite dangerous though for the there are no safety grills that should surround the top of the hill. C

Checking out the shoreline of Dapitan, you can see the fishermen unloading their catch while there others help them fix the nets or just walk along the shore savoring the fresh air from the sea.

A stone's throw away from my friend's place is the Gloria de Dapitan aka Glorietta where you can find and buy "pasalubongs" and other trinkets in very affordable prices or have fun with friends while playing billiards or bowling.

Aside from the numerous inns and resorts, you can also enjoy Dakak Park and Resort. With it's first class amenities and kind staffs you will fell in love with the place. I also enjoy the food that they serve and they serve it in heeps! A seafood platter and salad can stop your hunger pangs and not hurting your pocket.

I also enjoy the activities there like the nightly sing and dance performances of the staffs at the seashore while dining or swimming in the pool or beach or jet skiing.

After eating a very sumtuous breakfast, we (my boyfriend) enjoyed trekking the hill coming from the chapel of the resort (we say a little prayer in the chapel, of course) before we hit the short but awesome sights while walking under the tree canopies through the hill til we reach the shoreline of Dakak. Such a facinating experience.

We also picked or shall we say hit some tree riped mangoes along the place... sweet!

Dapitan for me is a very memorable place to be... I enjoyed every moment when we where there before we hit the road back to my grandma's place in Piñan. But before that we have to pay a visit to my relatives in Dipolog City.

Never had a dull moment here in Zamboanga del Norte! Cheers!
