Approaching Apo Island

Another view of Apo Island on the way in to the beach here. I love seeing a calm blue sea. it sure beats riding on white topped waves all the way over.

Apo Island is covered with trees and it is a very green island. the 700 population mainly live in Apo Village which is on the right side of the boat landing area. You will walk through the village on the way to Apo Island Marine Sanctuary.

Almost at Apo island

On the way over to Apo, the boatmen were asking us what time we wanted to leave Apo, we told them we wanted to leave right after the sunset so we could get some good pictures. The boatman looked at us and asked "4pm sir?"

We said no no, we want to stay on Apo Island until AFTER the sunset.... to which he replied "3.30pm Sir?"

English is spoken to some degree, but never really understood I guess :)

We later found out the reason we had to leave that early was the coast guard, they do not allow the bancas to carry passengers from Apo to Zamboanguita after 4pm for safety reasons.
