Apo Island Beach - More Banca Boats

This side of Apo Island is used as the landing area for banca boats both full of tourists but also full of stock and supplies for the local businesses and the village in general. you can see Apo Village out to the right in this picture and a bunch of vendors waiting for the next boatload of tourists to arrive on Apo Island so they can try to sell their loads of T-shirts and sarongs. The vendors here take up all the good spots early, so if you want to have a spot in the shadow where you can cool down and relax between snorkeling trips, you better get there early and put your towels and stuff out.

Taking breaks while snorkeling on Apo Island is very important, the sun is very hard and your body is being cooled down by the cool clear water, so you do not notice that you are slowly being burned to a crisp. Use a high factor water proof sun tan lotion and take frequent breaks where you also drink a lot of water.

Bancas on Apo Island

A good thing about this landing area is that they usually do not fill up the whole area with banca boats, so the tourist and visitors can still get in to the water and snorkle without having to push boats around.

The 2 white boards on the cliffside here are both from the resorts on the island, one from Apo Island Beach Resort and dive center and one from Liberty's Lodge and Pauls Dive Center. It seems like one of them got the good idea of advertising there and then within minutes the only competitor on Apo Island probably followed suit.
