This is Pauls Diving Center on Apo Island Beach right before the actual village. the diving center looks good inside and it is Padi certified, so you can get your Padi certification right here on Apo Island. The owner Paul and the second instructor Mario are both very experienced and professional, I took a Danish friend over to Apo Island the other day for a discover Scuba experience, and Mario was the Instructor that took my friend out diving.
The discover scuba is a Padi program for people who wants to see if scuba diving is something for them, you get a little bit of theory and then you get the dive gear on and a tank on your back and walk in to the water right from the beach, in the shallow water you get a little more theory and get to try a few exercises. Aftter that you swim out a little further and start your descent. the Padi discover Scuba dive lasts around one hour and you will see if scuba diving is something you want to do more of.
The dive centers on the mainland does dive trips out to Apo Island as well, so any of the Padi dive centers in the area will do if you want to explore the underwater world of Apo Island. The most important thing when choosing a Padi dive center is that you feel comfortable and safe with the instructor.
Some dive centers around offers dive lessons in other languages than English, so if you are not a native English speaker then you can shop around and see if you can get an instructor to teach you in your own language.
