Snorkeling in front of Apo island Beach Resort

The snorkeling are in front of Apo island Beach resort in pretty bad the first 15-20 meters out, it has a lot of crap and trash probably brough in with the current from the mainland, I am sure they do some cleaning there, but when I was there yesterday it certainly needed a good cleanup session.

That said, onec you get the 20 meters or so out the snorkeling here is great, I saw a juvenile / adolescent sweetlip harlequin fish there yesterday, this is a very rare sight, so I tried taking some pictures of him, but he kept playing with me, every time I had air in my lungs ready to swim down he was under a soft coral, and every time I was struggling to get air and get back down, he came out swimming in full view.

Even without a good picture of the harlequin I am still very happy I saw it.

You can also encounter sea snakes right here, dont be alarmed if you see a sea snake, if you mind your own business snorkeling on the surface, he will stay on the bottom going about his own business there. It is a great sight to see a seasnake, and I would certainly be more scared to see a snake on land than spot one while I am snorkeling 4 meters above on in the water here.

I guess I still have to gather the courage to swim down and take a picture of a sea snake close up though, I have not done that yet, and I am not sure it is on my program right now :-)
