Just rolled home after a food mission to Casablanca.
Guenther the Boss and Chef came to me and offered me something where I was a bit skeptical about to eat that in the Philippines.
Hax'n mit Sauerkraut und Bratkartoffeln
hmmm, I know most of you have no real ideas what that is, but it is probably THAT traditional dish of Bavaria and Austria. A kind of Pork knuckles with roast potatoes and Sauerkraut.... or to make it short loads of MEAT !!!
It was served in a steel-pan nicely prepared and I hardly could believe my eyes about the amount of food in this pan. The taste was fantastic. Good mustard and a dark sauce are additional served.
being a friend of Guenther I just thought it is a "come on-Rhoody-eat-something-proper-you-look-so-weak" kinda thingy, but than I saw that another (unknown) guest got exactly the same size portion. That is without any doubt at least 4 times as much as you get at joe's chicken but real quality-food
After I really was able to finish it Guenther served me a "Erdinger Weissbier" one of my favourites in Germany. He told me proud that there are up to 25 different kind of beers available at Casablanca in Dumaguete.
When I paid I asked the waitress if it is no mistake with the Hax'n and she said no. Here the price :
248 Peso only ...for that Hax'n
They told me to keep that for a while as a special on the menu. Man I'll be back...
