Also there is Maayo Matiao Shipping Lines from Bato (after Santander) to Tampi. See
Maayo Shipping to Cebu Island. They syncronize departure times with Ceres bus Dgte-Cebu and I have found them reliable, however sometimes full. There are (limited) services for snacks, food etc. on each pier if you have to wait. Ticket around 1,500 pesos for all. On Negros side you will have less than 30 minutes to SU. Coco Grande is next to SU and is one of the city's best hotels. 2,000 pesos and up for a family. And since you are bringing a car why not try out one of the many resorts along the South Highway, after Bacong. Definitely more fun for the kids, and only 15-30 minutes each way.
