Yes most of us are foriegners on this forum, many of us are interested in development here, to some Malls mean urbanisation and want things just stay the same. Clean sea water etc, etc. But I personal feel that there is no harm in having a few Malls to improve the shopping and some extra places to go and eat or drink. But the problem is that a lot of us have come to Negros to get away from the filth of Cebu or Manila and the traffic jams etc.

Duma is getting to be a haven for tourist and ex-pats the potential for more tourism does see the need of new Malls and development that attracts tourism this can only be good for the local economy and create needed jobs. But we have the those here that want to see no changes no further development.


What ever happens its out of our control and development will change this small city we even have taxi's now. The roads are being improved and more business are being opened. I forsee that Duma and Negros will be one of the Philippines number one tourist spots as it has some very nice beaches and its ripe for development.

I would also be watching Bayawan of which is bound to be as popular as Duma in the near future. I know that many foriegn businessmen are thinking of setting up business there why the land is still cheap.


Moving here could be a good investment in your future, but it finding the work at this present time that should be a main thought especially if you have your own family to be reponsible to.
