Tough questions. I'll try to kick in a couple of centavos worth.
On the positive side I've found Filipinas to be loyal, giving, caring and loving. They are happy with the simple things in life as they have grown up with little more than the basics for living. They are very family oriented and blood is always thicker than water. They exhibit high morals in nearly any situation.
On the negative side the same influences leading to the virtues can lead to vices depending on the person and their situation.
Some get a taste of materialism and like it too much because they've had to do without for so long. They are so dedicated to their Filipino relatives they lose perspective and are unable to balance the needs of the marriage with the wants of their family. In this event, morals can take a back seat.
People of either sex can be heavily influenced by their families. In my experience, it's best to get to know a woman's family before committing to a serious relationship. Regardless what people say, we eventually become what our parents were, or at least very similar. Most of all, take your time.
My case is somewhat unique because my wife was adopted by her American uncle and Filipina aunt and emigrated that way. My sister-in-law married an Aussie and it took about six months to get her to Australia.
