I am a bit confused. I used to always take a group of friends and kids of up to 10 to APO island when I would travel to Dgte. This all changed the last time that I was there. I was then told by a friend that some foreigners drowned when their boat tripped over so it was taken over by the Coast Guard. Now adays to go over you must go through the Coast Guard and they transport you over there. This also meant that the price increased by an ENORMOUS amount per person. I used to be able to bargain with a fisherman to take us over in his boat but of course there were no life jackets on board. Maybe I made a mistake. I will keep Liberty in mind the next time I go. It would be much cheaper and just as safe. |
