Had our lunch and there were buses parked outside the grotto taking pictures and others paid (100PhP) to get in and see the well manicured lanscape of the Virgin Mary grotto. Plan again to have dinner there as they said it's so popular. I will keep you posted. Got some photos but don't have time to post it. For sure when I will be back in England.
Thank you chrissar. So glad you and your hubby are enjoying your time there at JO'S BY THE SEA, and of course your Philippine trip. Wish I was there to see all the nice things she has done on her properties. When I spoke with her last week she'd asked me if when I'm coming back to have a visit with her. Glad to hear also her resort is thumbs-up. The grotto of Virgin Mary is really a big thing for her because she is not a catholic. She'd told us (me and my husband) the story why she decided to have the Virgin Mary erected in her property. It's quite a long story, and I was moved by her decision to have the Virgin Mary in her property. Give my regards to her please, if you see her. Anyways, hope you'll find a good builder of your dream home. Thanks chrissar.

This is really a beauty! Thanks for sharing this awesome pic.
Hehehehe.. well I think the owner is correct that she opened it last month. ME and My fiancee ate there last April 5 2007 (holy week). Our vehicle just got off the Amlan Pier and we where heading to dumaguete, when I noticed this place on my left... it looks like a Jo's Inato but it has more spice to it (more better looking and wider place.. hehe)... and also I've seen people eating in the area, so it must be good. Anyway I never thought it was newly opened so I thought I was just a good place to eat there. It was actually good. I ordered Spicy Shrimps, Inasal and green mango juice. I think my fiancee ordered boneless bangus and green mango juice as well... Price is ok too ...

This new Jo's was actually advertised in a big page somewhere in the past issues of the Negros Chronicle few months ago ,i reckon around Feb or March ,but you can have a look. I was pleased of this new site of Jo's by the sea ,as Jo's one of our fav.Infact, it's a place where i can say have the best creamy Shakes in dumaguete .We love their mango shakes.Normally,we go for the known chicken bbq but i am sure will try their grilled fish or bonesless bangus on this new Jo's by the seaside .

When you mentioned spicy shrimps and inasal (I assumed it's baboy), my mouth's watering,.....hmmmm delicioso! Green mango juice? Haven't tried that yet, all I had was yellow (riped) mango juice. Is it sweet and sour? It must be good otherwise you and your fiancee won't be having it. Well, I really could hardly wait to try the spicy shrimps and my favorite inasal na baboy (am I right about the baboy?). I showed the pic you posted, to my husband, he said to thank you. He was so impressed with the native structure. When we were there last Sept. they were still cleaning up and getting rid of the weeds that overgrown around where the restaurant resort was built. Anyway, you and your fiancee have a wonderful time in Dumaguete. OK?

Haven't figured out what Jo's offers yet. Might go to Dream Park to snorkel only and have a brew.

I think it cost P9ea to take a bus from in front of Bethel to Sea Forest. Can't beat that.
I couldn't understand it, when we went to the Forest Camp for lunch, we paid 100PhP and was used to pay for our food. The same as in Atlantis and Antulang. Our entrance fee was consummable towards your food.

Thank you Swany, we've seen Mrs. Ng's nephew who is a lawyer, Atty. N. Bejar and mentioned about you. He's the one processing our lot title and rest assured us that we will have it as long as the subdivision plan will be approved from the regional office.
A very good contractor and builder were already on the site. Quite a busy week for us. Already booked our Dolphin watching tour and so excited about it.

Is Jo's By The Sea owned by the same person who has Jo's Chicken Inato?

Hi chrissar;
Thank you for the update. I'm so glad to hear you're being taking care of by Atty. Niles Bejar. You said you've mentioned me to him. Sar, I don't think he knows me, and I don't recall meeting him though. Jo has two other older sisters Mila and Brenda, both married, and the youngest brother living somewhere in PI, I think he is managing one of Jo's restaurants outside of Dumaguete.
Glad you've found a builder/contractor to build your dream house. You are so
fortunate to have found this lot with such magnificent view of the ocean and islands of Cebu and even Bohol. Enjoy and have fun dolphin watching.

Hahahaha, Swany, where ave you been???
"Inasal" means grilled chicken but with a different marinate taste... I remember Jo's Chicken Inato's (if you have eaten in any branch) menu indicated "Chicken Inasal" then you will choose if its "Paa" (legs) or "Pecho" (Breast). I grew up eating Inasal because it is famous in Bacolod (City of Smiles), my hometown.

Green mango is soury sweet, but that is what makes it taste good: the kick of the sour over its sweetness as any "carabao" mango would taste..
