Default Oct / Nov weather?

Hello there

Just talked myself out of boracay upon discovery of this region

Considering spending time in the Pandan & Apo areas - can someone please fill me in regarding weather - I would hate to go all that way and not be able to see underwater life in clarity

Any help would be most appreciated!

Regards,

S

oct can still have typhoons and the nw monsoon winds start in nov. but by and large, its a good time to dive... march to may is best but i like the diving from june till oct - unless a typhoon passes to the east and it rains for 3 days straight....
the winter usually has more waves due to the amihan (NW)winds
...the negros oriental/siquijor/south cebu area is my favorite region in the philippines

"winter" is windy season .... and it gets down into the low 70's at night sometimes - brr - thats the low 20's celcius
(most peoples ac's are set colder than that )

The rule of thumb in the Visayas is that the months ending in "brrrrrrr" are the rainy cold months.

Like Septembrrrr, Octoberrrr, Novembrrrrr, and Decembrrr.

Brrrrrrrrr.

Welcome on the forum Ka3n.
It depends a lot where you dive/snorkel w.r.t. visibility.
Of course, August is the rainy season (May/June till Oct/Nov) and can cause worse visibility conditions.
Typhoons can spoil your whole scheduled vacation.
I should not be worried to much to come here in August.
Have had most of the time good conditions in that period.
Snorkeling at Apo Island near to the rock formations is even less viz.-risky.
But guarantee you never can get ..... where else they do ?
