Brand New Acer Laptop for sale.

I have an NEW unused Acer Extensa EX5420-5038 Dual core laptop that I would like to find a home for before I leave for the states next month. Is 29K a mistake ? At current exchange rate, that's $653. Yet the website you refer to is offering that laptop for $429 (after discounts). That's only 19000 pesos.

Unless you have the reference number wrong ? There are more expensive laptops on that site.

Hi; I met you a few months ago when I took the van for a ride. Was interested but my financial situation has really deteriorated w/ the stock market turmoil. Glad you sold it recently.

The laptops are both in excellent shape. This NEW one was just purchased but never even booted up. I charged it only.

The used one, ACER ASPIRE 5520-5290 is almost identical to the new one except it has a TK-55 processor (instead of TK-57) and a slightly lower clock speed(of 1.8 ghz vs. 1.9 ghz). Hard drive is 80gb. 1.5 GB RAM.

The reason I didn't advertise this one is that I'll use it for a few more weeks before I go. I added MS Office and a bunch of other customizations and improvements. I also removed all the bundled crapware.

I searched everwhere before I bought these. You can compare these to similar models in Dumaguete retailers and probably not find them for less than 50k.

As far as price goes, I'm a bit negotiable. I priced them pretty reasonably--I certainly am not bringing either to the US with me. Feel free to Google either model to read reviews etc. If you are interested, or know someone who might be, please give me a call.

surf that site and you will find the preices you should get in the philippines. In Dumaguete you can add the shipping costs and thats all. Some of the local retailers getting very close to this prices whe you give them the list

Rhoody; The site you mentioned has an Acer for 32k pesos. When you read more you will realize that it has a smaller screen, only 1/2 the RAM (major difference in performance), and fewer USB ports--Also you had better be proficient in LINUX because it doesn't include Windows! That is the price in Manila, shipping extra of course.

Best Buy, Circuit City and other major retailers in the US have weekly sales that come out on Sunday mornings w/ flyers in the newspapers. Sunday, this same laptop went on sale for $580-rebates at Circuit city and that was reflected in the newest price on their website. I included the hyperlink in my original post. I'm not sure how difficult it would be to get one insured and shipped over here (and pay the import duty?). Keep in mind that there's usually a very brief time period in which you have to photocopy, fill out and submit all the rebate forms. You must also cut out and include UPC labels from the cardboard box. They earn more by making it so difficult as many people get discouraged and never complete the process.

Another option would be to find someone to buy one for you as a favor and bring it over here or ship it on LBC. I don't know if they rifle thru those shipments but nothing here would surprise me.

Steve I don't say your price is expensive, this is the price you get stuff in the PI. I show the pricelist (download-able) to retailers here and get parts in some shops a for few pesos more.

The prices there on the list are retail prices, so you know the local retailers get the same product for around 60 % of that price (inluding shipping) thats why you can get almost this prices here in Duma with whatever software you want installed.

I'm leaving for the states pretty soon and lower the price to 27k. This is quite a bit less than anyone in town is charging for a similar machine.
