Hi Gmayell. Welcome to DC [Dumaguete City] soon. From a combination local-expat experience perspective-- it'll be good to examine documents on prospective lots with a good lawyer's expert eye. There are good lots available close to the El Camino in Piapi which is close to the sea. There are also some pieces available in the southern parts as well in the northern parts. Besides the internet and the agents, do take a ride along the highway going south and north from DC. There are so many lots for sale. BUT... as I've recommended, do look over the documents carefully. Fraudulence is everywhere, they differ in degrees, I guess.

yabs i appreciate what your saying but i am aware of the pit falls in buying land, i have heard from many people i know in boracay who have told me of family members turning up years later to reclaim land for which they did not sign over where the seller forgot about his long lost brother ect. or the wife who runs off with another man and has the house and lot as expatscant own land. my friends has bought land in the philippines they have been there for years and ive been going there for some time now so i know the scams fake docs. i will be using a recommended solicitor, iveheard about putting land in as a corporation, but will be looking into this in more detail.
