| Well, it has taken 3 min 20 sec to load this reply page (yes, I did time it) but through carrier pigeon I am able to post a reply... Between the power and Internet problems it is really frustrating sometimes. Yesterday went through many hours of bad Internet. I felt like I was back on my old TRS-80 Model I. (I know all the old techie geeks like me are laughing at that reference. Those that don't get it, well, just think of a time when it took 20 min to upload a program by cassette tape as there were no hard drives.) After the Internet finally got to a speed where I could work *BAM* yet another brown out... Many people suggest moving closer to town but that defeats the purpose of living on the beach in the first place. But Dumaguete will always be in our hearts and we are not leaving the place in spirit. Dumaguete Info is here to stay! There are many magical things about this part of the Philippines, it's just that power and Internet are not two of them! And unfortunately, we can't live without either... for now. Peace, The Outcast |

| The beer meetings will still be going on, Rhoody will be hosting them when we are not around, we are of course popping down for some of them. Thing is that our business is 100% online, so we need reliable power and Internet, we just can't get that living on the beach here. As Outcast said, we are not abandoning the website here, the site is here to stay and we still have many friends around who are also interested in keeping the site up. And with us back on a real Internet connection we will have a bit more time to do projects like this in stead of cursing at the Internet Provider while work issues takes 5 minutes to load per page... We will be there for the beer meeting on the 22nd in Haya Hay as well. Hope to see a lot of you there ![]()

| So gang, where are the good places to live for decent internet services? And who is the best provider? I am moving over next year and am busy researching PH. Wanting a place where I can game to my heart's content and continue researching! Sorry to hear about the move! I am new to the forum, but as with the others, very much enjoy your posts! Blessings, Bridgette |

I guess it's hard to have everything, a beach, cheap rent and low cost for living, but there are opportunities. Have a look at the SmartBro webpage, i signed up for the 999 peso package, signed up on Wednesday, got it on Friday and it seems working quite good. as I am not an online-player i don't know if its good enough for that, but my downloads are really fast.cheers Rhoody |
