Prepaid 3G internet access available?

Wow, I am impressed you are getting that from Globe Visibility...even the Manager at Globe suggested that I pass on their wireless product due to it being inconsistent. Are you getting those speeds consistently? What is your upload speed?

Smart told me they have 3G in the downtown DGT area. I am 2 km from downtown and no 3G signal shows up on my phone, so you will need to check the area. The online reviews I have read were generally favorable regarding the Smart Pre-paid SIM product and negative regarding Globe's product. However, those reviews are mostly generated by Metro Manila users.

I'm online for the entire day when I had my christmas vacation there in Dumaguete...and I had consistent speed of between 1.7 and 1.8 MB...upload speed is a bit slow though, of less than 200kb...this is understandable though since the technology being used for 3G is HSDPA for High Speed Downlink...

Maybe the reason why I have fast 3G speed is that our house is near 2 Globe towers...our place is near the Taclobo area just several meters away from Foundation U and Globe has 2 sites in the area.

Perhaps posts #8 & #9 above will serve to stifle the incessant whine about the lack of choice here. Surely with several ISP providers providing a variety of service offerings, there is something for everyone, non?

Or is it that some are never satisfied? Or that everything has to be just like it is back in good old ____________ !
