re: sound proofing. Not sure if you guys have heard of "white noise". Its sometimes used (or used to be) in industry. Idea being a sound of a particular frequency is transmitted which cancells out other sounds. Therefore regarding a business opportunity. Construct a large tower and transmit "white noise" . People would pay a subscription and the "white noise" would be broadcast to their area, cancelling out any unwanted noise, eg music, air craft etc. Its just an idea OK !

haha yer maybe, but i think the concept requires a microphone to input the local noise, an equal and opposite "noise" is then produced electronically and that has a cancelling effect, not just any old white noise

From the response, I think we have enough information to develop a business plan and approach a bank for a loan to kick off the business. I would see the first priority as, the purchase of a new (big black) car and perhaps a house to give any partners "face". We might have missed the boat on this one but further loans from other banks would be used to pay off some of the interest from previous loans and upgrade the car and house. The construction of the "transmitting tower" would start within the first 5 years.

Brief recent history:
I've found the woman, got married, bought the house, and now I've got noisey neighbours, in the form of roosters, about twenty five or thirty.
They weren't here when I bought the house three years ago.
No one seems interested in helping me eradicate this problem.
This is the Philippines I've been told. Like it or lump it.
But for me it's sub human.
So anyone know anything about silencing roosters?
White noise, black noise any help gratefully received to eliminate the misery of lack of sleep and resultant grumpiness that I'm going through.

I sympathize with you Cal...Try to isolate/insulate your Bedroom as much as possible...windows,walls ceiling,,,use a fan for white noise..I bought a small A/C for my br only...and we shoot any trespassing chickens!! (slingshot at Tops and bottoms or get good one from us)..and use round rocks not marbles.....goood luck..Miguel

Maybe it would be worth it just to buy off your neighbors. Pay a monthly fee for them to go sans roosters. Then they would just get 20 dogs.
