Medical cover/ Medicare for expats. Hello guys and gals, looking forward to a possible retirement in the Phils......one of the few things holding me back is the absence of a medical cover.....or is it?
A travel insurance would cover you only for a month or two, then what?
Pay for any test, intervention, medication? Traveling to neighbouring countries seeking a good hospital would be an even more expensive proposition, so out of the question.
So what next? Let the dice roll hoping never to get sick? What is on the grapevine? I've asked feedback about this already but no proper reply came through, I start to assume that either all expats are in excellent health or dead.
I believe US citizens have some kind of health cover, especially ex servicemen, available to them. What about EEC nationals?
How can the Philippines be sold as retirement heaven without any medical health care worth talking about? |
