Motor bike dress law dumaguete

can anyone confirm the latest on wearing helmets, foot wear requirments and number of persons allowed on a bike, including child?

I have read that a judge has said it is now law?

By law you must wear a helment and your passanger must wear a helment. Only two people alowed on a two wheel motorcycle. No flip flops on the feet. Proper shoes... Now thats the pilippine law as i hear it but the passanger helment most of the time is overlooked and your children setting between you most of the time is overlooked. Here in the philippines people wear batters helments and football helments and hard hats what ever looks like a helment. No protection there. And have a nice day

Ok it is law, but as I look out of my apartment onto North Road, I only see 01 in 50 riders with helmet. I am fairly new to here, is a blind eye turned?

As anywhere, the law is what is enforced. You have to ask yourself, do you feel lucky? Well....do you?

Either driving into Dumaguete or out...when the PNP has their check points up and running, you can always tell 500 meters ahead of time from the clusters of motors parked on the side of the road and everyone just squatting or laying around....usualy it seems they are only looking for registration or helmet violations. :-))

I was in dumaguete yesterday and back home to dipolog city today. And yes i can see all the riders without helments but the law is the law. In and around dipolog city its the same law but they are harder on the ex-pats than they are on the filipino cause the ex-pats have more money to pay the tea money. You guys that have been here awhile know what i am talking about...

NewKidInTown ...that they would like to see the law enforced equally not only if you can afford to pay the fine. It is the same here around my house in Mindanao I don't need to ride with a helmet unless I going in to town. Then it is helmet time generally as an expat you must adhere to the laws very closely to a void issues and maintain a happy life. But that is just how I see it.. I found it is much easier to live in the Philippines if you keep a low profile which is not easy for an expat.

Why isn't that easy? I've managed perfectly well, doing exactly that, for over 20 years in this city.
