bringing meat into Phils

Morning all

We usually bring some meat when visiting the phils but i've heard that recently some people have had meat confiscated at customs. I was hoping to bring a few kilos of lamb chops for my aussie mates who live over there.

Does anyone know if you can buy lamb chops in dumaguete ? Might save me the pain of having it taken off me at Singapore or Cebu airports.

i've heard you can get lamb here, but it's like rocking horse $hit.....ermm hard to find decent meat.

i know most countries have bans on bringing produce into the country without it being officially checked, Britian actually blamed this import of meat to the UK for the BSE outbreak there......it was bollox....but when did the UK government ever bother about that?

Watch out for the Drug sniffer dogs.... they feed dogs rice here!!! if i was a dog, i'd head straight for the lamb chops!! lol

yes it is true that we are strick in importing meats from foreign place even meat coming from luzon to avoid contamination. Because luzon meats are positive in foot and mouth desease. We don't want to have an out break here in our place, hope you will understand it, i appologize for your incovenience ma'am. any ways I have a neighboor who had pet sheeps. yes, I know that some dogs here are feed with left over rice and foods, because most of the owner are irrisponsible, and they are ignorant on the law of republic act 8485 the animal welfare act. that all animals have the right to shelter, food, against violence, comform etc. But there are a lot of dogs lover now, there are even pet shops that sells dog foods and dogs stuff toys etc.
