    Thumbs up Honda XLR/XR200 Update

I have done some more work on my XLR200 and I will show how I made the Air-filter. Due to several times having to deal with a clogged up Idle-jet, I have installed a Fuel-filter and that seems to help.
The Air-filter is easy to reuse by using a KIA Car air-filter, one can see the part number on the picture and I buy them at HVL around the corner from Shell Downtown for 250Php, as one can see it's cut in half and then glued in Place with RTV Silicone, I additionally secured mine with some wire, if you clean your parts very well with solvent there is probably no need for that.
The second set of pictures is from yesterday, I have covered 6000km with that filter and it is still very good, one can see by counting the ribs that it has about twice the surface of the Original.
If you have nothing better to do you can search for all the changes I have made to the Bike over the years in the last picture...
    Have fun... and save...

It'd be ironic if your bike was my old 2000 XLR that I sold back in 2002/2003...

When I still had the XR air filter in my current bike, I removed that screen with all the holes in it. Both screens actually.

    That's fairly creative, SM. (applause)

Sorry, I don't see all the changes you made other than the fuel filter, and something going on at the top of your shock absorber.

The stock 200's are oversprung. Looks like you have a different shock/spring. Can we ask what that is and where didya git it?

It looks like you've removed the air/oil seperator. (though you still have crankcase fumes entering the airbox )

    Maybe a new shifter

And something zip tied to the front down tube

Can't find any other budget modifications...

The new filter may have twice the surface, but if its all crammed into the same space, there may be diminishing returns as it effectively becomes just a sandwich.

I noticed on my XR air filter that the dirtiest areas seemed to be the peaks rather than the valleys.

I admit that it's not easy but thanks for trying anyway, it's the Headerpipe, Stone protection (you found that one), Gearshifter (you found that one too) Footrests/Pegs, Mono-Shock, extended Mixture-screw, I don't have time to go into details, so we can maybe meet somewhere and compare our rides...P1030191 6.jpg

Sounds like a good idea. I am 500 meters east of Echoville btw

My Balls have not complained yet but I don't ride the Bike for a long time and make frequent rest periods, I like taking pictures myself and there comes always a good time to stop somewhere and take a shot...Maybe it's my weight, with 65 Kilos there is not much pressure on them...
