It's OK your secret is safe with me

Hey, john boy thanks for not divulging my secret. Hehehe!

This poem is just from my imagination and it never happened to me. Can you imagine without a partner in a ballroom, with people looking at you? I put a bit of humor in this poem. Hope you enjoy it.

Masquerade Ball

Alone in the corner of the ballroom
With people in different costumes
Waltzing along with their partners holding their tails
And smiles were in style.

It was one lovely evening to remember
Though I'm still missing a partner
I figure out, I may have cinderella syndrome
Here by myself, in cat costume.

Wearing white fake mink
Sporting fluffy tail and fluffy ears
I was holding a black velvet purse
Decorated with black sequins.

Still waiting for my prince
I wonder what he's up to?
Will he ever show up?
Soon it will be twelve o'clock.

Default Poem for the Rose

In this path there might be
No time to pick the rose
That once was seen in haste
While passing without rest.
You thought that deed could wait
So you fixed a backward look
In a tranquil mood of resolute
Before the season's wilting bait
I shall come to pick you and rest.
I shall sit then to look,
Touch, feel your thorns,
Maybe enjoy your gentler stings
Maybe afford back a dream.

Hi Swany and Mam A
Keep the poetry coming
As for me can't find my little green book of self poems
Got 2/3 half written but you need to feel inspired ,then it comes together.
Well done to both of you ,let's hope a few more people will share as well.
regards john

My Filipina

So many years I was alone
Until I met someone to call my own
She was indeed an answer to prayer
With beauty far beyond compare
My Pineapple Princess/Miss Del Monte all wrapped in one
Now the emptiness has gone
The unmeasurable joy she brings into my life
I'm so pleased that she is now my wife
With no regrets, I thank God above
For helping me find.....true love.

Those Tears On My Pillow
byretty_edem

Pretending that I feel fine
A smile covers despair
Sadness is easily hidden
No one would be aware

I go off into a quiet place
When I am feeling low
There I shall cry for hours
No one would ever know

Its easy masking sorrow
If I keep it out of sight
Weeping tears in silence
As I hug my pillow tight

Only my pillow will know
Tears I cried over you
Heartache is never heard
When hidden from view

Those tears on my pillow
Shall be shed silently
Yearning goes unnoticed
Its hurt you cannot see.
