    Default Retiring in the Philippines

    Hi everybody,
I am new to this forum; my name is Tommy, I have lived all over the world (East Africa, Near East, Far East, UK) during my professional life, now I am half retired in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.
I have been to the Philippines 8 times since 2003, and have now decided to go into full retirement there during 2008.
I have not decided yet where in the Philippines to settle down. I have been thinking of Angeles, Subic Bay, La Union (all of which i know), but have meantime read on the net very positive comments about Dumaguete (which I DON’T know).
I will be in the Philippines for 4 months from mid Dec07 till mid Apr08 to make up my mind where in the Philippines to settle down. I will be visiting Dumaguete some time during these 4 months and, maybe, meet some of you in person.
    Any advice is appreciatted

Hi Tommy, welcome to the forum.
Take your time exploring RP before settling down. There's much to see.

Tommy don't make a commitment to Luzon until you have checked out the visayas. Cebu and Dumaguete are my favourite places in the Phils and I much prefer the south of the country to the north.

    cheers
