But it's a great place to make money as a English teacher. I just flew from Kaohsiung Airport & there were no delays, all the flights took off on schedule. I was a little reluctant when I left for the airport (from Tainan) because I thought there's going to be a lot delays or cancellations...but that was not the case. Very glad I didn't flying from Taoyuan airport I know a lot of flights were screwed up. Happy Moon Festival Teacher!

I'm neither a Teacher nor an engineer. I'm Taiwanese & I currently work and live in China in charge of sourcing & managing a team of employees and suppliers for an optical company....I love my job as 80% of the time I work remotely through phone and computers from my home in Zhuhai (all my suppliers are in other cities). I love both Taiwan and Philippines, and yes they are indeed very different culturally and ethnically from another----both places' got countless things that I love about as well as a few things that truely irritates me, but without a doubt I wouldn't mind retiring in either place.....though I may have to give Philippines a slight edge. But for now, Zhuhai is the place of my preference, it's got everything that I look for in a small city: low cost of living, great sub tropical weather, excellent food, great shopping, just a hop and a skip away from Macau & Hong Kong...even Taiwan (70 minute flight), and last but certainly not least...we have aloooooooooooot of beautiful women around (I'm single & in my early 40's by the way ).

I really hope I have a chance to meet you someday when you are back here in Taiwan. I'm thinking of changing cities next year and maybe going to work for public school System. right now working at NUU in Miao li and a bushybon so it is okay. yeah the girls I know what you mean. But I'm married to a young Beautiful woman. So the girl issues are not something I think about to much.

I would highly recommend Tainan as your next stop---it's probably my favorite city in Taiwan......large enough where everything you need is available but not overly developed. I lived there for 8 years before moving to China.....I loved it there. It's true, southern Taiwanese are more hospitable & down to earth, great weather (less humidity), friendly country folks, and very few natural disasters like drought, earth quake damages, & floods. Ok, enough ranting....my apologies to Rhoody....I know this is DI, not TI forum... ![]()
