| Hi People, I am new in the forum. Me and my friends ( we are 5 inthe group) will be travelling to dumaguete on the first week of december. We will appreciate some suggestions from anybody in the forum. I was wondering if it is safe to stay at Harold's place and leave our things while going around dumaguete. Coz we would not like carrying all our backpacks while going around. All of us also does not know how to swim but we would like to experience snorkelling in APO Island. Is it safe also to go to APO Island during december? Are the currents ok during that time of the year? And we would also like to seek suggestions on how we could rent an affordable boat since we are just five in the group, we wont mind at all if we are to share a big boat with other travellers. Maybe we could just split the boat fee equally among us. And will there be dolphins in Taņon strait during this season? Thanks so much and hope to hear some great and useful info from the readers. |

| Thanks for the info Jellyfish. Now I have to drop dolphin watching from my list. Maybe me and my friends could just try going back to dumaguete (for dolphin watching) summer of next year if our schedules would jive. Would it also be safe to travel to Siquijor during december? Thanks again |

| Hello to all, especially all the British guys n gals living here. I am a Londoner and have taken early retirement from London Underground where I served for fifteen years as a driver. I have been visiting the RPI since 1998 and settled here with a.n.other in 2003 when I retired. Since that relationship fell apart I am now happily in a relationship with a wonderful Cebuana and have a young son by her. My likes here are the climate and the friendly people. The pound against the peso is also an influencing factor. I left the UK partly because of the climate and partly because of the major interference in our daily lives by the EU and our own government. However, here I experience an 'anything goes' attitude which is equally frustrating. I have witnessed policemen transporting a workmens' hut in the back of a multicab. The hut hung out the back a fair way so the cops were walking along behind the multicab holding the end of the hut. We have all experienced the lack of discipline on the roads but putting an entire family on the back of a motor cycle is something I abhor. I wish the Pinoy would learn to think ahead but they do not. Sometimes I observe they do not think at all, they just do. My location is just outside the city and I hate it here. I used to live in Sibulan and loved it there but the owner was coming back so our lease was not renewed. My day here starts at around 4.30 am when my lovely, considerate neighbour's roosters start the dawn chorus. Naturally all the other roosters in the vicinity join in and by about 04.40 the birds in another neighbour's aviary have also chirped in. Now it's time to add some real sounds so the dogs, goats and pigs from my lovely considerate neighbour join the cacophony. It goes on for about an hour before dying down. At about 6.30 our lovely considerate neighbour, (l.v.c.) turns on his radio, max volume of course, and I have to listen to the news. By about 08.00 it might be quiet but by then I am totally wide awake. Very often my l.v.c. starts cooking on his open fire and the smoke drifts over the wall and into our bedroom. Time to switch the wall mounted fan on. (bought and erected solely for this purpose )During the course of the day I will have several stressful periods caused by these and others. Unfortunately I signed up for a year before I realised how bad it was here. Complaining is not an option. As I have been told many times, I am a visitor here. |

. And since all five of us in the group do not know how to swim, I told them we must have a lot of precautions in crossing or travelling to another Island. And I don't think witches will harm us (if there are really witches) if we will not bother them and make fun of them. ![]() |
