Default Freezing cold in the Philippines

I am on my traditional new Year trip to visit the Dane and it is freezing cold here in Angeles. To be exactly 3 days ago it was 16 degree at 10:00 pm.

We used the heater of the Van the very first time in 8 years. The air conditions are totally confused and there is no way of sitting in an open air restaurant without long Jeans and Jacket.

One big advantage: The beer stays longer cool.

cheers

Rhoody

Diver,

I only know why you guys in Holland have this temperatures...

cause you deserve it....

As a resident refugee from that true land of ice and snow - Canada, I find all of this whining about the frigid weather delightfully amusing.

Let's have a thread just for "How cold was it?" stories. I compained about the cold in Canada all my life. I pledged to my wife never to complain about the heat here.

BTW Canada beat Sweden for its fifth consecutive gold medal at the IIHF world junior championship in Ottawa.

I guess the Dutch never got good at ice hockey from only skating on straight canals.

Reminds me about that outdoor necessity after one or two beers in 0 degree weather and trying to pee before your equipment freezes. That was cold and as much fun as snow angels.

Sorry you got the wrong information, canals are for cargo ships and they break the ice and you hardley can skate on that ice.

But at last after so many years every lake is almost frozen and when we are lucky we have maby in a week the elfstedentocht, eleven city's tour. in friesland
It is about 200 km long and very famous (in Holland) and the winner will do that in about 7 hours and he will be a hero for many many years and always be rememberd.

So that was a lecture for everyone who is interested about winters in Holland.

Greetings J.Diver

I think that Diver is really on to something good here. It's an excellent contribution to the "How cold was it?" thread as in "Was it cold enough to hold the elfstedentocht this year? As a former resident of Ottawa with 11ish km of frozen Rideau Canal surface, I can relate to this one.

For those interested, please check out:

Elfstedentocht - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

and

DRF -- Elfstedentocht English version main frame

BTW, Hindeloopen (running wolf ?) is one of my favourite Dutch places! It's nice to see that it's on the tour.

I feel cooler already!

No,It is ice beer within 15 minutes, and within 30 min's the bottle is broken by the ice.

But Its really cold when you throw 5 liters of boyling water 5 meter up in the air, and it fell down again as snow. Then we had a temperature of - 54 degrees C.
