| (Excerpt from Entrepreneur.com.ph - Money - Forest Camp) Eleven kilometers west of Dumaguete in Negros Oriental is Forest Camp, an oasis that began as a picnic area for the Vicuņa family in the early 1990s before the Vicuņas opened it to friends, and eventually to the public. The camp is now all of 2.2 hectares. It charges P800 for a 12-hour stay in its backpackers' den, which can accommodate up to 10 people, and P1,000 for a 24-hour stay in any of its cottages. Its main hall can house up to 250 people and may be reserved for wedding receptions or conferences for P2,000. The dormitory holds up to 20 students.

| WOW! It is sooo beautiful! In 35 days i will be in Negros and i'll visit this place! Just one question...are there mosquitoes in the forest? My husband has a big problem with them - we had been attacked by a huge mosquitoes cloud in Central America ![]() |

| There are mosquitoes everywhere in the Philippines but I have not seen clouds of mosquitoes since I left the Great Salt Lake in Utah. Most of the mosquitoes are out at night or stays in the cool shadow in the day time. As i walked through the forest I got a few bites, but it was my fault for I did not plan to go in the woods but I did and they were waiting for me. But the park is a must see when you get here.
