We were there in Tanjay on the 24th at my aunt's but after the besperas feast we rushed to Dumaguete ,meant to come back for another dose on the evening but so tired ,so as the next day.We saw some people in costumes heading perhaps to the assembly point. I knew we would be missing the open street dancing performance .It's a shame really ,we lost the oppurtunity to watch it .Tanjay was enjoying a lovely weather with all sun and no drop of rain or drizzle that day ,unlike on typical occasions Tanjay fiesta is often drinch with rain.Like in 2004 Tanjay fiesta ,trying to watch the sinulog under our umbrellas but with occasional heavy pouring rain having no sympathy,we decided to retreat back and head home .Anyway, these are amazing photos of this colourful sinulog, thanks to have spared your time sharing them with us sheelah.

How come its spelled, "Tan-jay"?

The way a person say it, it should be spelled "Tan-Hi", or "Tan-High" (even better)....

Is that a Spanish rooted word or sumtin?
