Hi Marie, I've found that although islandsproperties.com appears to have the largest selection, the site is actually padded out with properties that are no longer available, both for buying and renting. It also seems to target the ex-pat market and this is reflected in the top dollar asking prices for sales and rent. It may be worth checking these out to see what is also available :- DumagueteProperties.com real-estate.ph Hoever, I can only pass on the same good advice that was given to me. Go there, look around, take your time, and ask other members of the ex-pat community. There is always someone who knows someone else who might know .......... etc. Good luck. Roger.

Also be wary about the pictures of the homes featured. They are not total fabrications but many of them are from when the home was first built rather then current pictures of the homes. When you actually visit them be prepared to see they look slightly more used and probably are.

Thanks!! We just visited Dumaguete a couple of weeks ago, saw some houses (mabye 3), but we need to see many more. We are ready to just rent for awhile if needed. But, that is why I want a realtor who works in the area. They will know of all the houses and the areas and can give us more to choose from than the outdated and overpriced ones that are available online. I have frequented the websites you have mentioned and have found they don't update their sites very often and it is quite frustrating because I know there are more houses out there that just aren't listed online. Thanks again, Marie

We had very good luck with Archer at IslandProperties. He took us out and showed us three or four options at a time (provided a driver, for whom we paid 300p for fuel and his time), and negotiated rental price with the owner. If you would like his mobile number, please let me know. He is very familiar with Dumaguete, listened to what we wanted and didn't waste our time with properties that were not suited to our needs. ~ Sue
