Sewing notions......

Okay, I'm back with another puzzle.....
I have a couple of articles of clothing that I just need to do some minor sewing repairs. Easy enough, IF I could find some needle and thread. Went to a fabric store yesterday (made sense to me) and they looked at me like I was crazy and said they didn't have a clue where to buy needle and thread!! Okay, so, could someone here please direct me to the needle and thread? I haven't looked in the Department Store here, yet...(We have the SM supermalls here in Manila)....not sure where in the Department Store they would have needle and thread, but I will check there. It took me forever to find safety pins (the only place I found them was a convenience store!!) How I miss Wal-Mart!!

The fabric store here in Duma has needles and thread, but my wife prefers the vast assortment of needles and threads in the sewing kit I bought her at the 99 cent store in CA!

Thanks!! That was my plan....going to Oklahoma this weekend and was going to pick up all the sewing items I need and bring them back with me. I had a nice little sewing kit before I moved here, not sure if I packed it in one of the balikbayan boxes or tossed it. That is good to know, though, that the fabric store there has needle and thread.....this fabric store looked at me like I was from another planet when I asked about it!! I said, "I need to do some repairs by hand, do you have spools of thread and needles?" She showed me this gigantic spool of embroidery thread.......

Here in Manila, get all your sewing materials at Market!Market! Fort bonifacio, Taguig City MM. "Carolina's" ground floor, Market!Market! They also have a branch in Megamall.

In Dumaguete, i forgot the name of the store though, it's along Ma. Cristina St. near the appliance store... and also OK Mart along Perdices St.

You meant HO's Art/Trading next to the Golden Rule Store? Yes, they have complete sewing equipment there and the one next to the China Bank, too (which is the son of OK Mart, Robert).

(You, too, a Sillimanian? Correct me if I am wrong...just a guess with your SU-something).

the other store i'm referring to is a new one, with a new bldg and all...just along ma.cristina st. near Conchitas...

they are also complete w/ sewing materials.

Good info!! Glad to hear it!! I doubt I will make it to Market Martket! here in Manila before we move to Dumaguete. Will probably pick up a few things in Oklahoma to get me by, then go to these stores you mentioned in Dumaguete.
