I have heard that they practice Voodoo in that place, how true that is I am just asking. I am not superstitious, but I have heard of that so many times.

On many places on the world they practice Voodoo.
I'm not knowing what you mean with THAT place.
In Portugal they have Voodoo, in Brasil, in .........................etc

The "voodoo" mentioned I think is Siquijor's one which the locals refer to as "barang". It has attracted a bit of tourism there. I don't know its authenticity but a cousin once pointed out an old lady practicing it in one barangay in San Juan during my visit there many moons ago. (My cousin and I have roots in Siquijor).

All I know is that I took a bunch of my filipina friends there on trips and they were all worried about the witches and black magic in Siquijor. We went on several trips over the years and I never had a problem. It is a beautiful place. I guess if you want to find people inclined towards that sort of thing then you can find them there. Personally, I loved the island and the people were friendly/helpful.

I did not heard about woodo.. but witchdoctors and strange rites..I think that
those guy's that "operate" on people picking out bloody things from peoples bodies are from siquior. Would be nice to se that kind of show IRL.

But I don't think they have tiny white dolls and putting needles in them to curce the western visitors.. :-)

We have a friend in Larena that we will visit in april 2009 so perhaps I can share som experiences after that.
