If you are a fan of Sponge Bob; and my son and I are. then you are all too familiar with Krusty Krabs arch rival " Chum Bucket" and for no valid reason.. We;ve found the New Chum Bucket in Dumaguete.. its called Qyosko:

Food: ( if one can call it that) absolutely chum
    Service : Deplorable
wait time: 45 min for chicken fingers for my son
Apology factor on behalf of staff: zero
I asked for the manager. The girl behind the counter smirked and said what manager..

This establishment will give Plankton a real run for his money
and no they did share their secret for the secret formula for insular behavior with a touch of student sophmor-ic atmosphere

I've had pleasant experiences there. I have gotten their scrambled omelettes and like them for the price. My GF has also ordered a soup in their and they brought the wrong thing but when explained they apologized and fixed it at no charge, still the soup my GF said had no banana's in it (her normal complaint when she eats Pocheroo). I also like the cheap coffee their in the coffee shop and some of the snacks as well and I'm not a coffee person generally besides the odd carmel capaccino or such. Now its definately not a 5 star joint but considering its an inexpensive place more designed for filipino's and a fav spot for college students its not bad. If I had to complain I'd complain about FoodNet and Cangs food which tastes like it is made the day before and when you get it cold or microwaved but still nasty.

Generally any place that attracts "college" students and or Filipinos is an equation for intestinal disaster.Whilst it may be kind on your wallet there is a price to be paid for being too Kuriput ( excuse the spell)
Ill stick to my favs of Hayahay, Kri and if on the cheap Mickee Dee's.. ( now you know why there are so many Filipinos who eat at this American FRanchise..it always seems so damn busy) Supersize the Pinay..lol

I've been eating at Qyosko occasionally for over 10 years. Certainly not up to 1st world standards but they have never made me sick. Beer most always cold, service very consistent (horrible).

I am glad that the thread starter is posting it on the "Tourist" Information section - we locals are already happy to be able to dine there, haha.

You can't expect much in service from any filipino based food place. Cheap food comes with costs which is crap customer service. But you learn its not a sit down and menu place so you go up to the counter call for the staff and get what you want. Its really not a place meant for tourists unless you are wanting to see how filipino's eat.
