Went to play in a Texas Hold-em tournament at Monarch Sands Beach Resort at Tambobo Bay, recently. Even though I lost money in the tournament, I had a great time. Beautiful yellow sand beach, great food and service and large cottages. My wife & son (6) loved it. They are adding a dive operation and there is plenty of fishing and snorkeling. It's about an hours drive towards Siaton, turning left at the Tambobo Bay sign. P900 per night for the whole family. Apparently they are going to have a Hold-em tournament one weekend every month, for aficionados like me. Now if only my playing skills were as good as the surroundings. Gary

Gotz, Check out the website Dumaguete Hotels, Dumaguete Beach Resort, Dumaguete Hotels, Dumaguete Beach, Monarch Sands Beach Resort. Been there several times and liked it everytime. Real sand beaches, off the main roads so there is no traffic noise, good times and food. Cheap rooms only 900 pesos a night. You feel the stress melting from your body as soon as you get there. Check it out. Maybe even Yabs might like it. Chi Town

I heard that there is also a Texas Hold Em game for the wives at the Monarch Sands Resort Tournament. Is that true? My wife would like to play Texas Hold Em although she is not an experienced player. I think it's part poker playing and part socializing that she's looking for. Some activity to increase her circle of friends while engaging in something she has an interest in. When is the next tournament?
