Dear Eileen, Alberto, Butch, Ricky, Mark. Erwin Condolence. When I heard about your Dad’s passing, a gush of memorable moments started unfolding. He was the first to congratulate me when I had my baby girl. He and your mom delivered Marisyl Charilome; After winning the gubernatorial race, your dad retained me as Provincial Warden of Negros Oriental and only asked for loyalty to the governorship. I must have earned his confidence considering that Governor Emilio Macias allowed me to continue serving as his alter ego being the Official jailer of the Province. He adamantly refused to have the Sports Complex named in honor of his father (your grandfather). My late father, Atty. Floriano Alo Beltran, authored the resolution to name the complex as the Lamberto Macias Sports Complex. It was unanimously approved by the members of the Provincial Board of Negros Oriental; He condoled and consoled me via skype for about 30 minutes during the wake of my son. Guys, Be happy with the thought that you are not alone in your grief. Your father was a good father, a devoted husband, a man of integrity and above all, He was my Governor.

To the late Gov. Macias , may your soul rest in peace and condolence to the family.
I have an opinion about this scenario. Cancer is a life changing event, it affects the very CORE of your being. How could somebody go thru reelection for any office when you know your cancer has metastasized and you know you will go thru chemotherapy and possibly … See Moreradiation. These treatments do not make you feel good, they incapacitate you thru the course of the tx. How could somebody promise the people that he would serve you when he knew he would be out for txs because chemotherapy could be everyday or every 2 weeks, or every 3weeks and the side effects that would last for a week each time. Radiation is everyday and has bad side effects that you feel to the core of your bones. I know, I have cancer, too.
In my opinion, there was misrepresentation here. There was misleading of the people. How long could somebody cover for you when you promised to serve the people ? To all politicians out there, and to all chiidren of politicians out there, you have the responsibility to be honest to the people you serve because you work for the people , and not for yourselves. Remember campaign time ? ” I am your servant “… Be true to this.

Rep. Arnaiz said that late Gov. Macias was a fighter because he hoped to make it to his oath taking ceremony. I would understand if he fought for his life and be with his family and enjoy the remaining of his life, but to come home for his inauguration ? Well, that was plain OBSESSION for POWER. To all politicians out there, RECOGNIZE WHEN TO STOP !!! I will have a good talk with Gov. Macias when I see him someday, somewhere …out there !
