1st Oktoberfest in Dumaguete - Philippines

The original "Oktoberfest" was held in Munich (Bavaria’s and Germanys Beer and soccer capital), on October 12, 1810, for the commemoration of their marriage, Crown Prince Ludwig (later King Ludwig I) and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen. It was agreed that the Oktoberfest festival would be celebrated each and every year without exception.

The Press Club Compound at the south end of the Boulevard will be the location for the first "Traditional" Oktoberfest held in Dumaguete City. From the 2nd of October until Sunday the the 5th are several activities and events there. The whole event is a Fundraiser for the steet-kids in Dumaguete.

What can you expect?

Great food from different caterer, cold local and imported drinks, excellent live-performance, different games and auctions, fun fun fun.

How does all work?

From 2 pm until 6 pm is free entrance, Mike from the Adventure-Diveshop invites for a small fee to some Hobiecat sailing and his famous mexican snacks. Guenther from Casablanca is responsible that nobody goes home hungry or thirsty.
The admission fee for the evening event will be 100 Peso per evening event and includes 1 local drink. The rest is to cover the costs. Each centavo left goes into the fund. A percentage from all drinks and food goes also directly to the Charity.

What happens to the money?

We will organize some doctors who check the Kids for medical needs. The Fund pays for the medical treatment needed. Depending on the money we can raise we are planning to take the Kids on a daytrip to Apo with games, beach-BBQ, swimming, snorkeling etc.

The City of Dumaguete, our honorable Mayor Augustin Perdices, City councilor (and DI member) Tony Rems, GSO-head Paul Honculada are just a few names to mention. They helped us to go through all the permit-process and give us great advices to make this event happen. Now it is up to us to help the Kids and make an "Event to remember".
